Episode 27: Steve Clifford of Circa Survive

Keith and Tommy sit down with multi-instrumentalist, member of Circa Survive and our friend: Steve Clifford. We discuss Steve's history growing up in Hamilton, attending shows in the northeast, dropping out of high school to go on tour and our experiences growing up in religious families. We also discuss the formation of Circa Survive, the creation of their landmark debut LP Juturna, their early tours and what to expect next from the band.

Episode 26: Evan Diprima of Moon Destroys

Keith and Tommy sit down with previous drummer of Royal Thunder and current drummer of new post metal outfit Moon Destroys: Evan Diprima. We discuss Evan's history growing up in Atlanta and his intro to the scene, some of his early bands, touring with Royal Thunder and teaming up with Juan Montoya to form Moon Destroys. We talk about the recording of Moon Destroy's debut EP Maiden Voyage, their song writing process, digital recording, skateboarding, life on the road, the lasting legacy of Final Fantasy 7 and more.

Episode 25: Ian Kerner of Blueskiesfade

Keith and Tommy sit down with the front man of Jersey's own Blueskiesfade: Ian Kerner. We discuss the history of the band and their impact on the local scene and in the northeast. We also discuss their influences, classic shows they played, some of the difficulties they faced in the past and in the current day and the band's plans for the future. We also find out what Ian has been up to all of these years including potentially smuggling illegal goods out of a bar in Houston. Keith and Tommy check in at the end of the show to discuss Keith's recent Warzone dub, the latest scene gossip and the exorbitant price of beach Chipwiches.

Episode 23: Pete Appleby of Renee Heartfelt / Memorial

Keith and Tommy sit down with the front man of two of our favorite bands Renee Heartfelt and Memorial: Pete Appleby. We discuss Pete's early days in Chicago and his move to Richmond, VA where he discovered the scene and began playing in bands. We discuss his band Count Me Out, touring the US and Europe and the end of the band. We also discuss the formation of Renee Heartfelt, stories associated with the band and the many difficulties they faced including the limited support and roadblocks put in place by their former label. Finally, we discuss the formation of Memorial, some of the meaning behind the band and their songs and what Pete has been up to for the last decade.

Episode 22: Kevin Dye of Gates

Keith and Tommy sit down with accomplished musician, engineer and member of one of our favorites bands Gates: Kevin Dye. We discuss Kevin's early days in Michigan, his move to New York, working at Levon Helm's studio and the chance Kevin took sending Gates a demo to try out as their front man. We also discuss the beginning of Gates, the writing of their first LP, the stories behind some of their most iconic songs, Kevin's cancer diagnosis and his journey to recovery. Lastly we cover band fashion do's and dont's, Korn, Radiohead and a whole lot more! We also check with in with friend of the show Josh Brigham of Hopesfall to discuss Hum's first LP in 22 years: INLET and much to Keith's dismay we end up talking about math... again.

Episode 21: Liam Wilson of The Dillinger Escape Plan / Azusa

Keith and Tommy sit down with bassist extraordinaire, member of mathcore greats The Dillinger Escape plan and current member of rising stars Azusa: Liam Wilson. We talk about life in COVID, growing up in Philadelphia, discovering the scene and attending shows in the area. We also discuss some of Liam's early work with Starkweather and detail the story of how he joined The Dillinger Escape Plan. We cover Liam's years with Dillinger, the ups and downs the band experienced over the years and their final set of shows. We also cover a whole range of other topics including: our own personal life experiences, views about the universe, religion and higher powers, theology, universal field theory, meditation and Liam's current work with Azusa and Devin Townsend.

Episode 20: Tommy Manson of Everyone Everywhere

Keith and Tommy sit down with our friend and guitarist of one of our favorite Philadelphia bands Everyone Everywhere: Tommy Manson. We discuss life in the age of COVID, our day to day lives, video games we've been playing and discovering the scene in Bucks County and Philadelphia. We also discuss the formation of Philadelphia greats Everyone Everywhere, recording and releasing their now classic first EP and two LP's, tour stories and the time Keith made a ruckus at one of their shows. We also discuss some of the difficulties the band faced with their current label and get some exclusive info on what to expect next. Finally, we close with some final thoughts from Tommy D and get into some existential territory.

Episode 19: Evan Weiss of Into It. Over It.

Keith and Tommy sit down with South Jersey legend and Mr. Into It. Over It. himself, Evan Weiss. We discuss life in the age of COVID and the current state of the world, how Evan discovered the scene at an Ashland Church gig, Bucks County and Philly shows and some of Evan's early musical endeavors including the Progress and The Funeral Bird. We also discuss how Evan created a fake band just to tour and catch a Hum reunion at Furnace Fest, the creation and early days of Into It. Over It., the recording of their debut LP "52 Weeks" and some of Evan's other work including Pet Symmetry and Their/They're/There. Finally we close by discussing our preferred sandwich spots in Philly, our favorite Jersey shores and the story of how Tommy lost his spleen in a skateboarding accident.

Episode 18: Brad Truax of Interpol

Keith and Tommy sit down with accomplished musician and New York City legend, Brad Truax. We discuss Brad's early days in the local scene in Tampa, the Florida death metal scene and his band Home which brought him to New York City. We also discuss living in New York City, its music scene in the mid to late 90's and early 2000's, tour stories, how Brad joined forces with Interpol, how he managed to learn their set with only a small window of time, touring with U2 and more. Finally, Keith and Tommy discover they have a lot of personal history tied to the date we recorded this episode (July 1) so we share those experiences and talk through them.
